give colors a chance |
Let's face it. All colors fade. The candle industry is one of many industries working to make all kinds of products more color fast. Bridgewater continues to develop
innovative new ways to make our candle colors more stable. We have come a long way. We offer increasingly more decorator color selections lasting longer than ever. In candle friendly conditions, our
colors may even last years. Learn how you can avoid conditions that may cause or accelerate fading. |

conditions that make colors conditional |
After you receive your Bridgewater candles, be aware of 2 primary factors in your store that can cause colors to fade. |
1. see the light |
What type of lighting do you have in your store? Halogen, Fluorescent, Spotlight, Incandescent, Sunlight, Track Lighting, Black Light. Candles remain most color fast when exposed
to normal, environmental lighting such as incandescent or fluorescent lighting. Other types of lighting, as well as direct or very intense lighting, will tend to fade or discolor candles more quickly. |
2. some like it hot |
But not Bridgewater candles. In addition to light, heat can also accelerate fading. Heat can even alter the fragrance composition of certain candles. We ship Bridgewater
candles in styrofoam packaging to help keep our candles cool. As our shipping boxes say, "store candles in a cool, dark and dry area." |

muddled about mottling? |
Are these candles supposed to look like this? A few Bridgewater dealers have asked why Bridgewater jar candles look "different." The variations and inconsistencies that you see in
Bridgewater jar candles are intentional. What you see is a combination of extremely high oil content and crystals which when cooled create a distinctive look. As no two snowflakes are exactly the same, each
Bridgewater candle is unique. Even over time in your store you may notice gradual changes in the mottling. This is because the crystallization of the candle changes as the crystals become more
condensed. Although the color has stayed the same, it may appear to be lighter or darker. Bridgewater's mottled candles may have variations in color, dark and light spots, bubbles throughout the wax as well
as striations. Although they may look "different" to those unfamiliar with these types of candles, the mottling that characterizes Bridgewater candles is part of our brand and part of the reason our candles are so
fragrant, beautiful and one of a kind. |
